In a last second decision before leaving SLC for Telluride, I woke up at 3:45 am and climbed Superior with a photographer and a couple other athletes in the hopes of catching the soft golden light that a clear sunrise brings. The photos speak for themselves. Superior kicked my ass all the way down, but just seeing the sunrise from that elevation is pretty magical. The lines were rowdy, and the skiing less than optimal, but it was completely worth the effort.
